Two items reported here in recent months reached conclusive milestones in the last few weeks.

Autodesk, San Rafael, Calif., announced on April 2 that it has completed the acquisition of parametric building modeler Revit Technology Corp., Waltham, Mass. (ENR 3/4 p. 57). Completion of the deal by publicly traded Autodesk was subject to approval by shareholders and the Federal Trade Commission.

Also, in late March, civil engineer Frank Nicotera, developer of a tracking system for loads of construction fill (ENR 8/27/01 p. 35), has been granted all 13 claims in his patent application. The product is marketed by his company, DTSystems Inc., Gainesville, Fla., as the Data Track System. Nicotera was named one of ENR’s Top 25 Newsmakers last year for developing the process.
